Moll, a child prodigy, invents “The Third Ear,” a machine for hearing things that cannot be heard. When the machine falls into the evil hands of the Mercenary, Moll embarks on a journey to save sound (and the world itself!) from falling into complete chaos. Kid-Simple is a quirky fable of innocence and experience, featuring live sound effects, mutinous onomatopoeia, and a host of woodsy temptations by one of America’s hottest new playwrights.
“Under the shrewd direction of Jessica Burgess, this stylish offering will startle and intrigue….For hard-core theatergoers—especially those with a taste for the literary and the zany—the Forum production will strike with a satisfying ping.” Washington Post
“A blend of old-fashioned aural narrative and new technology stunningly staged by Forum Theatre & Dance at Round House Silver Spring with an intense appreciation for both the classical and experimental.” Washington Times
