    HOLLY DOWN IN HEAVEN
    By Kara Lee Corthron

    Directed by Michael Dove
    September 27 — October 20, 2012

    WORLD PREMIERE

When Holly, a brilliant fifteen-year-old born-again Christian, becomes pregnant, she banishes herself to the basement and confides only in her dolls -- particularly a life-size psychiatrist doll who closely resembles Carol Channing. Her only human contacts are an indulgent father, a clumsy ex-boyfriend, and a new tutor ... who just might be able to out-smart her. Hilarious and poignant, this world-premiere comedy explores birth, faith, and life outside of heaven.

    9 CIRCLES
    By Bill Cain

    Directed by Jennifer L. Nelson
    February 7 — March 2, 2013

    AREA PREMIERE

In spring 2006, Private Reeves receives an honorable discharge from the army, returns home to Texas, and wakes up in a prison cell. On trial for brutal war crimes committed in Iraq, Reeves will not (or cannot) explain his motives. And everyone, from his lawyer to his pastor to the public, latch on to a different story. Mirroring Dante’s Inferno, this fierce psychological drama ventures into the darkest corners of both the war and the mind -- in hopes of light on the other side.

    CLEMENTINE IN THE LOWER 9

    By Dan Dietz

    Directed by Derek Goldman
    May 23-June 15, 2013

    AREA PREMIERE

When Hurricane Katrina tore through New Orleans, Clementine’s family scattered to the winds. Nine months later, they are reunited and anxious to rebuild -- but a new storm is brewing. Her husband has arrived from Houston with a strange young girl, who just may be a prophet, and the ghosts of those lost are awakening. Set to the jazz and blues of the Lower Ninth Ward, this modern retelling of Agamemnon delves into the agony and hope that come after the storm.
